How about a late breakfast, and then nice walk in the sand for exercise. Let's talk, get to know one another, listen to music. Beach chairs and an umbrella to get comfortable.

Driving through the Karoo, finding a pool and watch the sun go down skinny dipping and sipping champagne till the stars are out.
I think that the first few dates in a new relation, should be planned where the ability to freely talk at will is key, yet afford convenient things to distract from the awkward moments

I like getting lost in the woods. Or driving down lanes without knowing where you will end up, then getting out and exploring. England and Scotland are such beautiful places to be out in nature.

I also really love music, so heading to a concert or out to hear a local band somewhere and enjoying a drink would be fun too.
We should go out in my boat for a nice slow cruise around and chat so we can get to know each other and see how much we may have in common

Somewhere public enough to be safe, quiet enough to allow conversation and interesting enough to stimulate thought.
I don't like the idea of sitting in a movie, restaurant or coffeeshop on a first date. I'd rather walk around while we talk and get to know each other...maybe play adventure golf or something like that
Just meet up at a place that one of us hasn't been to and let the other be the tour guide. That way both of us should feel comfortable. For me that would be anywhere. I'm new to northern Illinois.
Why not breakfast in San Francisco, drink coffee at the pier, then visit museums or galleries. Perhaps we could follow this up with dinner in either Half Moon Bay or Santa Cruz, and a walk along the beach.

We can end the evening by going up to Coit Tower and taking in the view. It's stunning up there.
